Bot-free AI notetaker

AI meeting notes.
Without a bot.

Record Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet from your own computer. Nobody sees a notetaker join, and Acta still writes the transcript, summary and action items after the call.

Three ways to record without a bot

Pick the one that fits the meeting. Everything ends up in the same Acta account.

Desktop app

Zoom and Teams desktop apps

For Windows and Mac. It opens by itself when a Zoom or Teams meeting starts and records from your computer.

Get the desktop app

Chrome extension

Google Meet, Zoom and Teams in the browser

Join the call in Chrome and start recording with one click. Nothing else to install.

No bot in the call, nothing missing after it

Recording without a bot doesn't mean fewer notes. You get the same AI meeting notes as with the Acta notetaker.

Transcript with speaker names

Who said what and when, ready a few minutes after the call.

Summary and decisions

An hour-long meeting in a few lines you can share.

Action items with owners

Every next step goes into one tracker, with a daily follow-up if you want it.

Reports for your role

MEDDPICC notes, candidate scorecards, Jira tickets, PRD drafts and more.

Ask across meetings

Ask about a customer, project or hire and get answers from what was said.

The recording itself

Watch or listen back any time from your Acta account.

You decide what gets recorded and who sees it.

How we protect your data

Encrypted in transit and at rest.

  • You start it

Frequently asked questions

See how Acta compares with other bot-free tools like Granola and tl;dv.

What is a bot-free AI notetaker?

It's an AI notetaker that records the meeting from your own device instead of joining the call as a participant. Nobody sees a bot in the participant list, but you still get a transcript, summary and action items afterwards.

How do I record a Zoom meeting without a bot?

Install the Acta desktop app for Windows or Mac. When a Zoom meeting starts it offers to record, or records automatically if you turn that on. If you join Zoom in Chrome, use the Acta Chrome extension instead.

Can I get Teams meeting notes without a bot?

Yes. The desktop app records the Microsoft Teams app and the Chrome extension records Teams in the browser. Acta then writes the transcript, summary and action items.

Does it work with Google Meet?

Yes. Add the Acta Chrome extension and start recording from the Google Meet tab.

Do I see the transcript during the meeting?

No. Acta transcribes the meeting once it's over, and the notes are usually ready a few minutes later. During the call you can just pay attention.

Should I still tell people I'm recording?

Yes. No bot joins, but it's good practice, and in many places the law, to let everyone know the meeting is being recorded.

What if I can't attend the meeting myself?

Bot-free recording needs you in the meeting, since it records from your device. For meetings you can't join, connect your calendar and the Acta notetaker can attend and record for you.

Is it free?

Acta is free for 15 days with unlimited recordings and transcriptions. After the trial, Pro is priced per user.
