How do I record an in-person meeting and get AI notes?

Short answer

Use the Acta mobile app. Put your phone where it can hear everyone, tap Start Meeting Recording, and pause or resume when you need to. When you stop, Acta uploads the recording and writes the summary and action items, which you can read on your phone and in My meetings on the web.

How to do it with Acta

  1. 1

    Get the app

Download Acta from the App Store or Google Play and sign in with the account you use on the web.

  2. 2

    Place your phone

Put it where it can hear everyone, such as the middle of the table.

  3. 3

    Record

Tap Start Meeting Recording. Pause and resume when you need to; the screen stays on while you record.

  4. 4

    Read the notes

Stop the recording. Acta uploads it and writes the summary and action items.

What you get

  • Client visits, interviews, site walks and 1:1s
  • Pause and resume
  • Same account on phone and web
  • Ask Acta about the meeting afterwards

Can I record an online call from my phone?

You can send Acta's notetaker to an online meeting from the app. To record an online call without a bot, use the desktop app or Chrome extension on your computer.

Should I tell people I'm recording?

Yes. It's good practice, and in many places the law, to tell everyone in the meeting.
