How do I get AI notes from Webex, Slack huddles or WhatsApp calls?

Short answer

Record the call from your computer with the Acta desktop app for Windows or Mac. Open Acta, click Record on this device, then Start recording: Acta finds the meeting app and the meeting's name by itself, records the meeting's sound and your microphone, and writes the transcript, summary and action items afterwards.

How to do it with Acta

  1. 1

    Install the desktop app

Download Acta for Windows or Mac and run the audio check once.

  2. 2

    Join your call

Start the Webex meeting, Slack huddle or WhatsApp call as usual.

  3. 3

    Record on this device

Open Acta, click Record on this device, then Start recording.

  4. 4

    Stop and read the notes

Click Stop & save. The meeting shows Notes ready under Recent meetings.

What you get

  • Works with any calling app on your computer
  • No bot joins the call
  • Your screen is never recorded
  • Same notes as a Zoom or Teams meeting

Good to know

Does Acta notice these calls by itself?

It notices Zoom and Microsoft Teams app meetings by itself. For other calling apps, start the recording from Acta.

What does the desktop app record?

The meeting's sound, meaning everything you hear through the computer, and your microphone. Never your screen.

Is Acta free to try?
