Free tools / Standup update formatter

Turn standup notes into one clean update

Add each person's yesterday, today and blockers. The formatter puts every blocker at the top, where they get noticed, and lists each person's update underneath, in Slack format or plain text, ready to post.

Free, no sign-up. Runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

How to use the standup update formatter

  1. 1

    Add the team

One block per person: what they did yesterday, what they're doing today and any blockers.

  2. 2

    Keep it short

One line per item. Details belong in the ticket, not the standup.

  3. 3

    Check the blockers

Every blocker is listed at the top with a name, so someone can pick it up straight away.

  4. 4

    Post it

Copy the update into Slack or Teams for anyone who missed the standup.

Then let Acta take the notes

Acta records the standup and writes each person's update, the blockers and the action items, and can turn tasks discussed in the meeting into Jira, Asana, ClickUp or Monday.com tickets.

What are the three standup questions?

What did you do yesterday, what will you do today, and is anything blocking you?

Why put blockers first?

Blockers are the part of a standup someone needs to act on. Listing them at the top, with a name, makes sure they're picked up.

Can I use this for async standups?

Yes. Collect each person's answers in a thread or form, paste them in and post the formatted summary.

Is anything saved?

No. The formatter runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
