What happens to my meeting recording if the internet drops?

Short answer

It isn't lost. The Acta desktop app keeps recordings on your computer until they reach Acta; offline, they show Waiting to upload and upload by themselves when you're back online. The Chrome extension uploads while the meeting runs, and if Acta can't be reached it keeps the recording in Downloads/Acta Recordings.

How to do it with Acta

  1. 1

    Desktop app

The recording waits on your computer and uploads when you're online again.

  2. 2

    Chrome extension

If Acta can't be reached, find the file in Downloads/Acta Recordings.

  3. 3

    Upload it

Upload a saved MP3 or M4A file from My meetings → Upload audio if needed.

  4. 4

    Read the notes

Once uploaded, Acta writes the transcript and notes as usual.

What you get

  • Recordings kept until they reach Acta
  • The reason is shown under a waiting recording
  • Reloading the meeting page doesn't stop the extension
  • Record audio saves as you go

Good to know

A recording says "Waiting to upload"

It's safe on your computer and Acta keeps trying. Once Acta is reachable, it uploads by itself and then shows Notes ready.

Can I upload a recording I already have?

Yes. Upload an MP3 or M4A file from My meetings → Upload audio.
