How do I record meetings on Windows and get AI notes?

Short answer

Install the Acta desktop app for Windows. If "Windows protected your PC" appears, click More info, then Run anyway. Sign in, run the audio check and make sure "Let desktop apps access your microphone" is on. Acta then records Zoom, Teams or any call on your PC without a bot and writes the notes.

How to do it with Acta

  1. 1

    Install

Download Acta for Windows from acta.ai/desktop and run the installer.

  2. 2

    Allow the microphone

Check that "Let desktop apps access your microphone" is on in Windows settings.

  3. 3

    Record

Acta opens when a Zoom or Teams meeting starts. For other apps, click Record on this device.

  4. 4

    Read the notes

Stop & save, then open the meeting once it shows Notes ready.

What you get

  • Lives in the system tray
  • Works with Teams free too
  • The meeting is named from the Teams window or your calendar
  • Never records your screen

Good to know

Windows says "Windows protected your PC"
