How do I record meetings on a Mac and get AI notes?

Short answer

Install the Acta desktop app for Mac. Drag it into Applications, sign in, and run the audio check, allowing Microphone and System Audio Recording Only when macOS asks. Acta then notices Zoom and Teams meetings, records them on your Mac without a bot, and writes the transcript, summary and action items.

How to do it with Acta

  1. 1

    Install

Download Acta for Mac from acta.ai/desktop and drag it into Applications.

  2. 2

    Allow audio

Allow Microphone and System Audio Recording Only (System Settings → Privacy & Security). Acta never asks to record your screen.

  3. 3

    Join a meeting

Acta opens when a Zoom or Teams meeting starts and offers Record on this device or Invite Acta bot.

  4. 4

    Get the notes

When the meeting ends, open it from Recent meetings once it shows Notes ready.

What you get

  • Lives in the menu bar
  • Launch at startup so it's always ready
  • Pause and resume while recording
  • Recordings wait and upload when you're back online
