Why can't my AI notetaker join the meeting?

Short answer

Usually it's waiting to be let in, or the link isn't right. If the meeting has a waiting room or lobby, admit Acta when it asks to join. Paste only the Zoom, Google Meet or Teams link, without the Meeting ID and Passcode text. For automatic joining, sign in with Google or Microsoft so Acta can read your calendar.

How to do it with Acta

  1. 1

    Check the lobby

Admit "Acta Notetaker" from the waiting room or lobby.

  2. 2

    Paste only the link

Remove any "Meeting ID: …" and "Passcode: …" text.

  3. 3

    Check auto-join

Auto-join scheduled meetings needs a Google or Microsoft sign-in.

  4. 4

    Or skip the bot

Record from your computer with the desktop app or Chrome extension instead.

What you get

  • Works with Zoom, Google Meet and Teams links
  • The desktop app shows the bot's status: Joining, Let in, Recording
  • The bot shows as a participant
  • Bot-free options when bots are blocked

Good to know

It says "Invalid URL"

Use a Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Zoom meeting link, with nothing else in the box.

My company blocks meeting bots

Use the Acta desktop app or Chrome extension. They record from your computer, so no bot joins.
