What is a meeting report template?
Updated Oct 25, 2026
Definition
A meeting report template is a fixed structure for writing up a type of meeting, such as a sales call report, an interview scorecard or a product requirements document. Filling the same template every time makes meetings easy to compare and act on.
Common templates by team
- Sales: MEDDPICC, BANT, SPIN or SPICED deal notes.
- Hiring: candidate assessments with the same points for every interview.
- Product and engineering: PRD drafts, ticket lists and incident post-mortems.
- Healthcare: SOAP notes drafted from a consultation, for the clinician to check.
- Leadership: board meeting minutes and decision records.
Template report vs. general summary
General summary
The same short recap for every meeting.
Template report
The specific document a meeting is for, with gaps shown when the meeting didn't cover a section.
Acta's report templates
Acta has report templates for sales (MEDDPICC, BANT, SPIN, SPICED), hiring (Candidate assessment), product and engineering (PRD draft, Ticket suggestions), healthcare (Clinical visit note) and leadership meetings, among others. Turn on the ones you use and Acta writes the report after each meeting. Templates skip meetings they aren't meant for, and fields a meeting didn't cover are shown as missing.

Can I run more than one template on a meeting?
Yes. For example, a sales call can get both a MEDDPICC and a BANT report.
Does a template make things up when the meeting didn't cover a section?
In Acta, no: a field the meeting didn't cover is shown as missing.
