# Acta

> Acta (acta.ai) is an AI meeting assistant and notetaker for Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. It records meetings with or without a bot and turns them into transcripts with speaker names, summaries, action items, a decision log, answers across meetings (Ask Acta) and role-specific reports from report templates (AI meeting agents).

## Recording
- Desktop app for Windows and Mac: records the Zoom and Microsoft Teams desktop apps without a bot. Opens by itself when a meeting starts, or records automatically.
- Chrome extension: records Google Meet, Zoom and Teams in the browser without a bot, started with one click from the meeting tab. Records the meeting tab's sound (the other people) and your microphone (you) separately, so everyone is in the transcript.
- Notetaker: joins meetings from your Google or Microsoft calendar and records them (appears as a participant).
- Mobile apps for iPhone and Android; recordings and files can also be uploaded.

## What you get after a meeting
- Transcript with speaker names (from the meeting and the calendar invite) and timestamps.
- AI summary, decisions and action items with owners.
- Follow-up email drafts, opened in Gmail.
- Chat with a single meeting.
- Ask Acta: questions across the meetings you choose, answered with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) over their transcripts.

## Follow-through
- Action item tracker (Outcomes): action items from all meetings with owners and due dates; open, overdue, due this week and done; grouped by meeting or person; one-click reminders; a scheduled daily follow-up email.
- Decision log: decisions across meetings with who decided, the owner, linked action items, and the history when a later meeting changes or reverses a decision (with the quote and the moment it was said). Searchable, grouped by topic or person, exportable as CSV.

## Report templates (AI meeting agents)
Templates read a meeting and write a structured report in a role's format, and skip meetings they are not meant for:
- Sales: MEDDPICC, BANT, SPIN and SPICED deal reports; product demo reviews.
- Product and engineering: Ticket suggestions (Jira, Asana, ClickUp, Monday.com), PRD drafts, project status, CTO briefs.
- Hiring: candidate assessments.
- Operations: KPI reviews, incident post-mortems, vendor reviews, decisions and RACI.
- Customer success: support case summaries; customer QBRs.
- Finance: client reviews, KYC onboarding, credit committees, earnings call digests, compliance checks, dealflow memos.
- Education: lecture notes, parent-teacher meetings, student advising, faculty meetings.
- Healthcare: draft SOAP notes for the clinician to check, patient visit summaries, care team huddles, hospital operations.
- Pharma: MSL field insights, clinical trial site meetings, regulatory meeting prep, rep calls.
- General: 1:1 check-ins, board meeting minutes, contract negotiations, property walkthroughs.

## AI assistants (MCP connector)
- Acta has a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol), so ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Mistral Le Chat, Perplexity and other assistants that support remote MCP connectors can search the user's Acta meetings.
- The user copies the connector URL from Acta's Settings > AI assistants, adds it to their assistant, signs in to Acta and chooses Allow (OAuth). No API keys.
- Assistants can search meetings, read a meeting and its transcript, and list action items and decisions. Answers link back to the meeting in Acta.
- Optional, each off unless the user allows it: mark action items done, comment on action items, set a decision's status. Every change shows in Acta with who made it, and can be undone.
- Assistants only see meetings the user can see, can't delete or share anything, and can be disconnected at any time. Part of Pro (free for the first 15 days).

### MCP tools
The connector (remote MCP server, OAuth sign-in) gives the assistant these tools:
- search_meetings: find what was said across the user's meetings; returns matching passages with links to the meetings.
- list_meetings: the user's recent meetings, newest first, with date, title and participants.
- get_meeting: one meeting's summary, decisions and action items.
- get_transcript: one meeting's transcript with speaker names and timestamps.
- list_action_items: action items across meetings, with owners, due dates and status.
- list_decisions: decisions across meetings, with who decided and their status.
- mark_action_item_done, comment_on_action_item, set_decision_status: changes, each off unless the user allows it.
Example prompts: "What did we agree with Contoso last week?", "List my overdue action items", "Which decisions changed this month?"
